Do you trust the mainstream media that’s been given $595 million by the Liberal government to cover the Liberals – or any party – honestly and fairly?
Some reporters will, but as we’ve pointed out time and time again, many won’t.
It’s never been more important for us to be on the ground covering stories the mainstream media isn’t, and getting Canadians the answers they deserve to key political questions.
This will be True North’s first federal election. We’ve spent the last two years talking about the top political issues in Canada, and now it’s time to see what the politicians are prepared to do about debt, immigration, taxes, firearms, and the numerous other issues True North supporters care about.
We’re launching a bold and ambitious project, to cover the election as an independent and transparent media outlet.
We need your help to do this.
True North covered the entire Ontario carbon tax court case earlier this year. We were also on the ground at the sham Global Conference for Media Freedom in the United Kingdom, getting access to stories we wouldn’t have been able to from home.
We’re looking to raise $10,000 to give our fellows and reporters the means to pick up and go wherever the story is, to sit down with key party leaders and candidates from all parties, and to produce professional and timely content on TNC.news and across our social media platforms.
We are proud to be independent. Unlike most mainstream media journalists in Canada, we are not bought and paid for by the government: we couldn’t impartially cover the government if we were.
Our existence depends on the contributions from our supporters – that’s you.
As a charity, we can issue a tax receipt for your donation, but we need to work quickly so we can mobilize our team to cover the fast-approaching election.
