Canada’s state broadcaster, CBC, is refusing to refer to Hamas as terrorists in its coverage of the terrorist group’s attacks on Israel over the last four days. A memo sent to its journalists also forbids them from mentioning Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. True North’s Andrew Lawton says this shouldn’t come as a surprise given the way the media covers Israel in general, including the latest attacks. Also, CUPE is doubling down after its Ontario president, Fred Hahn, lauded “resistance” in a Thanksgiving message.
Plus, the federal government is extending its amnesty on firearms banned by order-in-council in 2020 to 2025, meaning the amnesty will last until after the next federal election.
