Video Editor/Videographer
True North is a digital media startup in search of a video editor/videographer to film, edit, and create outstanding videos with one of our talented high-profile show hosts. The position involves regular travel and location work. The ideal candidate will be an experienced videographer with strong experience in staging, lighting, audio, and video recording both in-studio and on location. They will also have experience as a video edi tor using standard editing software, including Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Suite.
This position is a work-from-home position with travel and location work on a regular basis. Ideal candidate could also have their own studio or access to a studio to perform editing. A full-time position is being offered, but a contract position could also be available as long as candidate is available for work at all times.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up for in-studio and location filming with all relevant elements (lighting, audio, staging, and camera recording).
- Adding graphics for videos and creating custom elements.
- Adding stock footage, b-roll, music, and images to videos.
- Correcting colour and audio of filmed material.
- Creating images and motion graphics.
- Managing livestreams.
- Working with the team to ensure content is ready for the roll-out schedule and meets quality standards.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Experience with video production.
- Fluency with Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Suite or any other relevant video software.
- Experience with graphic design.
- Experience with motion graphics.
- Experience with streaming video and livestreaming.
- Significant experience in videography.
- Enjoys travel and being on-location with talent.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Reporter Intern
True North is a digital media startup in search of an intern to write news articles and to seek out exclusive news stories.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate exceptional writing skills, is familiar with journalistic practices and has experience in politics or media.
This position is a work-from-home position. Applicants will need to work evenings and weekends as required.
True North interns are paid for their work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Writing between 10-15 news articles per week.
- Following the True North writing guide.
- Seeking out exclusive news stories.
- Viewing news from the mainstream media with a critical lens, in order to “find the other side of the story.”
- Ability to accept healthy criticism and constantly improve writing skills.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- No journalism degree required.
- Experience in politics or media is an asset.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Reporter/News Writer
True North is a digital media organization in search of a reporter and news writer to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate exceptional writing skills, is familiar with journalistic practices and has experience in politics or media.

True North is a digital media startup in search of a Digital Media Producer to work with our journalists to produce digital media content, including videos, write articles, and social media posts.
The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Suite, and other video editing software.
This position is a work-from-home position and applicants will preferably have their own computer equipment. Applicants will need to work evenings and weekends as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with talent to develop show concepts and content.
- Editing footage submitted by talent.
- Adding stock footage, b-roll, and images to videos.
- Writing news articles and other content for social media posts.
- Working with talent and staff within the company to maintain quality levels.
- Booking guests to appear on shows.
- Assisting with operational tasks as required.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Some experience with Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Suite or any other relevant video software.
- Some experience with streaming video and livestreaming.
- Some digital media experience.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more)

True North is a digital media startup in search of a video editor to assist with video editing and production. The successful applicant will be responsible for editing video podcasts, monologue segments, interviews, and livestreams, coordinating with high-profile talent and our social media team.
The ideal candidate is familiar with Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Suite and other video editing software.

- Clipping written content to provide context in videos.

- Consulting on video production tasks and reevaluating production workflows as needed.
