Conservative YouTube content prevents racism, study reveals

A recently published study from Penn State University found that conservative content on Youtube led to a decrease in the popularity of more extremist videos on the website.

The report found that the increase in mainstream conservative content on Youtube over recent years coincided with a decrease in those viewing far-right content.

“Right around the time viewership of Conservative content started skyrocketing, conservative content creation also rose dramatically. Conversely, despite the Alt-Lite and Alt-Right stepping up its content creation activity in 2017-2018, viewership of such content has been declining,” the report reads.

“Alternative voices on YouTube discuss topics mainstream media fails to touch, which may help them feature more prominently in search results and recommendations.”

Based on viewership trends, the researchers were able to conclude that conservative content was able to de-radicalize users.

Youtube, a subsidiary of Google, has long been accused of overly censoring content creators on its platform, targeting conservatives in particular. The situation has gotten so bad that mainstream Conservative outlet PragerU campaigned against their censorship right outside of Youtube’s corporate headquarters.

“Despite not a single video containing explicit, vulgar or obscene material, YouTube has restricted over 200 PragerU videos, labelling them as ‘dangerous’ or ‘derogatory’,” PragerU said in a statement.

While targeting mainstream conservatives, it has also been suggested that Youtube censorship extends to political figures in general.

Conservative media personality Steven Crowder found evidence that Youtube censored 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard after she got into a Twitter feud with Hillary Clinton.

Crowder himself has been demonetized by Youtube after an extended battle with far-left journalist Carlos Maza.

Considering the prevalence of social media censorship, it is surprising that the Trudeau government is claiming that companies are not doing nearly enough.

Social media companies have been threatened with financial penalties and forced shut-downs if they do not comply with the Liberal’s campaign against “hate speech” and “misinformation” online.

The Trudeau government recently confirmed that they will regulate social media after their re-election, ensuring that firms censor all content which does not meet ill-defined “hate speech” rules.

MALCOLM: Radical environmentalists only want socialism and communism

People around the world are living longer, happier and freer lives. Most people would celebrate the spread of free markets and human liberty around the world, but not the far-left and radical environmentalists.

These radical activists don’t want politicians to listen to them. They want to overthrow the entire system. For them, the solution is always socialism and communism.

They’re just looking for a problem – and they finally found one in climate alarmist and teen activist Greta Thunberg.

Greta Thunberg was in Vancouver for a post-election climate rally last week. True North’s Candice Malcolm reports.

MALCOLM: Feds turn blind eye to foreign meddling in our election

Two days after Canadians cast their ballots last Monday, the Trudeau government had already determined that there was “no foreign interference detected” in the 2019 federal election.

According to a CBC report, “officials tasked with monitoring and preventing foreign interference did not ‘observe’ any activity that merited sounding the alarm, according to the Privy Council Office.”

Were they watching the same election?

You know, the one where an Swedish climate alarmist and global celebrity held rallies and marches across the country and refused to disclose who was paying for her political activism, where possibly tens of thousands of non-citizens were sent voter cards from Elections Canada, and where the Liberals held a sketchy fundraiser in New York and sought out the endorsement of high-profile Americans?

Each of those amounts to a concrete lead for officials to investigate foreign interference. Instead, the feds have already made their ruling: no interference, case closed.

If our officials were truly neutral and wanted to investigate foreign meddling, they could start by looking at the top-secret Liberal fundraiser held in New York City on October 10, as first reported by Blacklocks.

We learned that Montreal Liberal MP Marc Miller attended the private event on behalf of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and that the Liberal-appointed Consul General Phyllis Yaffe refused to answer questions about whether she attended this fundraiser or how many non-Canadians were involved.

Equally concerning, True North learned that former Clinton aide and U.S. citizen Justin Cooper was involved in organizing this NYC fundraiser for Trudeau. Elections Canada is clear that it is illegal for non-citizens to solicit funds for a Canadian election.

“The Canada Elections Act prohibits foreign third parties from participating in elections and incurring expenses for regulated activities that take place during a pre-election period or an election period.”

Earlier this year, Elections Canada pledged to eliminate the more than 103,000 names illegally on the federal voter list to ensure that foreigners were not able to sway the outcome of the election. But throughout the campaign, Canadians saw news story after news story showing non-citizens receiver voter cards in the mail.

How many non-citizens voted? And why did Elections Canada drag its heels and fail to delete illegal names?

According to an access to information report from Blacklocks, Elections Canada is not tracking this information. They confirmed that 75,000 names were deleted, but they also confirmed that there are many “potential instances of votes cast by individuals who were allegedly non-Canadian citizens.”

“Total number of non-Canadian citizens on the National Register of Electors as of June 1: unknown,” wrote staff. “Total number as of September 11: unknown.”

Or our officials could look into the Liberals seeking political endorsements for Justin Trudeau from former U.S. President Barack Obama and the Nigerian-born American President of the Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri.

It’s pretty clear that Trudeau and his team worked with these non-Canadians to have them influence the outcome of our election. So why were officials tasked with monitoring foreign interference so quick to conclude otherwise?

“This is a typical lack of curiosity on behalf of our officials,” said Senator Linda Frum, who has worked tirelessly to promote a bill to prevent foreign interference in our elections.

“Trudeau sat down with Greta, in his official role as Prime Minister during the campaign,” said Frum. “That may not necessarily be illegal, but it’s certainly an ethical violation.”

“Seeking out the endorsements of foreign leaders and foreign environmentalists is a violation of the spirit of non-involvement of foreigners in our elections,” said Frum.

“This is breaking down the idea that our elections are for Canadians and no one else.”

Ten times the mainstream media showed their anti-conservative bias during the election

With files from John Ployer.

If there was ever any doubt that the mainstream media had a liberal bias, this past federal election put that doubt to rest.

There are many examples, both subtle and overt, of the mainstream media being biased against Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer to the benefit of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.

Here are ten examples of the mainstream media showing its partisan bias during the election.

1. CBC sues the Conservative Party.

The public broadcaster, which gets $1.5 billion annually from Canadian taxpayers, sued the Conservative Party of Canada during the election.

Days before Canadians went to the polls to vote, the CBC decided to sue the Conservative Party for using CBC footage in a Conservative ad. CBC wanted the Conservatives to remove the footage and admit that they “violated the moral rights of the applicants, Rosemary Barton and John Paul Tasker, who are the authors and performers of the copyright-protected material.”

CBC claimed the lawsuit was to protect their copyrighted material, CBC did not, however, sue the Liberal Party for doing the exact same thing

2. Mainstream media ignores Trudeau values test idea of immigrants.

During the election, Trudeau said Quebec had the right to use a values test in its immigration system. The mainstream media was silent, there was hardly even notice of his comment.

No scathing editorials, no Trump comparisons, no pearl clutching over how we could possibly ever define “Quebec values.”

This silence stands in stark contrast to the hysterical criticism and indignation Kellie Leitch received when she proposed the same thing as a Conservative leadership candidate.

3. CBC fact check misrepresents Conservative platform point.

In September, a CBC “fact check” called the Conservative plan for a universal income tax cut “imprecise.”

The reason? Because not all people pay income taxes.

It should’ve been painfully obvious that tax plans only affect those people who pay taxes. The CBC, being the CBC, went out of its way to nitpick over a Conservative pledge and find an excuse to criticize it and imply that Scheer was somehow lying.

Fact: Scheer’s plan would have universally lowered taxes for all people who actually pay the federal income tax.

4. Media hounds Scheer on gay marriage and abortion

Despite the fact that Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer repeatedly said he was going to maintain the status quo on abortion and gay marriage if he was elected Prime Minister, reporters constantly asked Andrew Scheer about his personal beliefs and if his government would limit abortion or gay rights.

The mainstream media insisted on reporting on a video of Scheer speaking on gay marriage in 2005 as if it were breaking news.

Meanwhile, the media gave Trudeau a pass on the fact that in 2011, Trudeau said he was personally pro-life. That’s the same position as Andrew Scheer, but you would never know that from watching the CBC.

5. Media critical of Scheer’s dual citizenship

When the mainstream media found out that Andrew Scheer had dual citizenship through his father, the media launched a string of news and opinion articles theorizing on Scheer’s passport and American roots.

They repeated unfounded rumours and asked Scheer absurd questions about made-up connections between Scheer, the Republican Party, the NRA and the U.S. military.

Meanwhile, Green Party Leader Elizabeth May was born in the U.S. and most likely still has US.. citizenship, but she never had to “defend” her American connection. Oh, and about half a dozen Liberal cabinet ministers hold dual citizenship, but we never hear about that.

6. Reporter Tweets that Scheer tripped as if it was news

Instead of reporting Scheer’s platform, in the last week of the election a CBC journalist decided to report that Scheer had tripped on a step. CBC’s Katie Simpson tweeted that Scheer had tripped while getting off the campaign bus. She added that Scheer caught himself and did not actually fall.

“It happened on the pool camera though, which he won’t like,” she said, which was not true. No footage of this apparent stumble ever surfaced.

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, however, actually did trip while walking into a campaign event. It happened on camera, but no CBC journalists reported on the incident. Canadians had to find the footage through U.S. news outlets because no Canadian reporter dared to mention it.

7. Reporter cuts Scheer quote to make Scheer look dishonest

In a news article, CBC’s Katie Simpson cut a quote from Andrew Scheer and took it out of context to suggest that Scheer was accusing the Liberals of raising the GST.

“At no point in this campaign have either the Liberals or the NDP mused about raising the GST. Despite that, Scheer dug in when challenged by reporters,” Simpson wrote.

But here’s the problem: Scheer didn’t say they would.

Here is what Scheer actually said: “We are showing Canadians the types of costs that will be associated with this massive amount of new deficits. They will have to make choices…. Raising the GST from 5 to 7.5 per cent is one option.”

Scheer said that the Liberals and NDP may need to raise the GST in order to pay for their many promises. He said it was “one option.”

Simpson spun his words to make it seem like Scheer was alleging that the Liberals proposed a GST hike, misinforming Canadians on what he actually said.

As Graeme Gordon points out, this misinformation was only clarified after the CBC received an official complaint.

8. CBC stalks man who released Trudeau blackface picture

While Canadians were shocked and disappointed by the multiple incidents of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface, the state broadcaster decided to harass the person who shared the images with the media.

While Canadians were wondering why Trudeau would wear blackface, and what other skeletons he had buried in his closet, the CBC decided to track down and publish personal details about the man who shared the yearbook that exposed Trudeau’s racist past.

Reporters even went to his home and lobbed him with loaded questions, as if he’d something wrong.

What kind of message does this send to potential whistleblowers in this country? If you go after Trudeau, the CBC will go after you!

9. Global News host channels her inner Trudeau to go after Andrew Scheer

While pretending to be an unbiased news host, Global’s Neeta Garcha followed an unhinged line of questioning that led to her calling Scheer a liar and invoking his children to try to shame him for a claim he didn’t even make.

The reporter said that Scheer’s alleged claim about the Liberals raising the HST is not verifiable (see #7), and asked him how he would explain his lies and dirty campaign to his children.

This reporter did not invoke Trudeau’s children or call him a liar over the SNC-Lavalin scandal, his broken promises over deficits, electoral reform, normalizing relations with Iran, or the dozen other lies Trudeau has told over the past four years.

10. Trudeau buys poutine for CBC reporter

While on the campaign trail, Justin Trudeau bought CBC political reporter David Cochrane a poutine, and handed it to him in the middle of a photo-op with dozens of cameras rolling.

“The Liberal Party always supports the CBC,” said Trudeau, openly celebrating his special relationship with the state broadcaster.

Cochrane laughs and smiles while accepting the gift from the Liberal leader, while completely ignoring the CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices on conflicts of interest. Oops.

The CBC receives $1.5 billion annually from the Trudeau government, so what’s a little poutine between friends?

FUREY: Trudeau’s olive branch to the west?

After the election, western alienation has reached an all-time high. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he’s willing to work with the west but he hasn’t indicated exactly how he’s going to do this.

True North’s Anthony Furey has two ideas:

Scrap the dreaded carbon tax and get rid of Bill C-69.

KNIGHT: Terror by any other name

An Edmonton court found a man guilty of attempted murder and several other offences. I won’t name him because he does not deserve the fame or the infamy.

Suffice to say he is a Somali national who was an illegal alien in the U.S. and after being ordered deported, he crossed the border into Canada courtesy of Justin Trudeau’s come one, come all messaging.

He found his way to Edmonton where so many of the Somali community now reside. Part of the problem, as this case illustrates, is a significant section of this community simply won’t assimilate and integrate with Canadian culture.

Is that a racist statement? Hardly. It’s a reality.

It was September 30, 2017 when he ran down an Edmonton Police Officer standing traffic point duty outside Commonwealth Stadium. He revved up his car and struck the officer at speed, blindsiding him. He then jumped out of his vehicle and began stabbing the officer in the face and tried to get the officer’s gun.

In a quintessential fight for his life, the officer fought back and the attacker fled in another vehicle, driving down Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton trying to mow down pedestrians on sidewalks until he was stopped by tactical officers.

He was charged with multiple criminal offences including attempted murder of a police officer. He refused a legal aid lawyer and instead because we are such a fair country, the court appointed a lawyer paid for by me and you to act as an amicus, a friend of the court, to look out for the rights of the accused.

The accused did not cooperate with the proceedings whatsoever.

This is by all appearances a terror attack on Canadian soil.  Yet, no one wants to call a spade a shovel. Why is a mystery. The accused even had an ISIS flag in his vehicle as he tried to mow down pedestrians. What else could this be if not a terror attack?

Here’s a dose of reality, this country is at war with fundamental, fanatical, radical Islam and its adherents whatever else you want to call it. We did not declare it, but sometimes war comes to you whether you want it or not.

The political correctness of the Liberals with their nonsensical M-103 ostensibly to condemn Islamophobia, which may be one of the most ridiculous concepts I have ever heard of.

If someone is threatening you, it might be appropriate to listen to the threats and take steps to protect yourself.

This is a basic fact the Liberals and the politically correct class on the left don’t seem to understand.

Radical Islam is at war with the west. That’s a fact. We ignore it at our peril. And no amount of political correctness or Liberal group hugs will change that.

The Edmonton incident was a terror attack on Canada even if the politically correct media won’t call it what it is. And frankly, neither will the Edmonton Police Service.

But this is not the only incident. We have had terror arrests in Kingston, Hamilton and Toronto. Yet, for some strange reason too many times the mainstream media tries to soft-peddle what these incidents really are. They are terror attacks on Canada by an element of radical Islam.

Time to call a spade a shovel.

Trump ordered raid that successfully killed the leader of ISIS

The U.S. Army has confirmed that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed during a raid in Syria approved by President Donald Trump.

The top-secret operation took place in the Syrian province of Idlib, where forces were sent to target Baghdadi’s compound. In the firefight, Baghdada died by detonating his suicide vest among his family members, where two of his wives also died.

The operation was successfully performed by Joint Special Operations Command Delta Team on Saturday and it was allegedly approved nearly a week ago by President Trump.

Baghdadi became the leader of ISIS in 2010 and was formerly involved in Al-Qaeda for several years before that. As leader of the terror cell, he oversaw numerous violent attacks worldwide and countless brutal human rights atrocities while seeking to expand ISIS territory in 2014 and beyond.

According to the Pentagon, Baghdadi’s compound was completely destroyed by an airstrike after the raid and DNA evidence has been taken for testing to further confirm the kill.

Numerous people who travelled into the region from Canada to fight alongside ISIS are being held in prisons throughout Syria for crimes committed with the terror group.

According to government figures 180 Canadians have travelled abroad to fight for ISIS and other extremist Islamist groups, while 60 are already believed to have returned to our country.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been non-committal and vague on how his minority government would deal with the returning terrorists. In the past, he’s used euphemisms to describe these terrorists as “foreign travellers”.

Saturday night, Trump referred to the successful operation on his official Twitter account saying. “Something very big has just happened!”

On Sunday morning, Trump spoke from the White House to discuss the details of the mission, and confirmed “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead.”

It was the top national security priority of my administration,” said Trump, noting that there were no American deaths during this mission.

Trump said al-Baghdadi was chased to the end of a dead end tunnel by dogs, and that he dragged three children with him while fleeing U.S. Special Operations Forces.

Eleven children who were staying at the al-Baghdadi’s compound were rescued, but in his final act, al-Baghdadi detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and the three children.

Trump said the ISIS leader “spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him.”

Trump thanked Russia, Turkey, Syria, Iraq and the Kurds for helping in the mission.

LAWTON: Tax dollars fund “Muslim voting guide”

Your tax dollars went towards a guide telling Muslim Canadians how to vote. Specifically telling them not to vote for Conservatives, who the report maligns as peddling Islamophobia based on their positions on immigration, M-103, Israel and foreign policy more broadly.

The guide was published by a Laurier University research initiative that works to support M-103, the supposedly “non-binding” Islamophobia motion passed in Parliament two years ago.

True North’s Andrew Lawton explains why this is so concerning.

Allegedly non-partisan public service union campaigned for Liberal re-election

According to a story in the Hill Times, the non-partisan Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) campaigned for a Liberal re-election and were promised a “fair collective agreement” if Trudeau was re-elected.

“We liked the fact that they did promise us that they would get back to us after the election regarding a fair collective agreement for our 140,000 federal public sector members,”  said national president of the union Chris Aylward.

The president of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) Debi Daviau has also indicated that the union expects the government to “reciprocate” their support.

PSAC is expected to return to the bargaining table with the federal government over settlement for the failed Phoenix system and a new collective agreement.

On October 18th, just three days before Canadians cast their ballots, PSAC pushed an analysis of the parties onto their members which praised the Liberals, NDP and Greens for having policies that worked in their interest. On the other hand, they condemned the Conservatives and threatened that a Scheer government would “result in significant job losses.”

No where in the Conservative platform did it mention cuts to the federal civil service.

Daviau also pointed out that the public service may have had a hand in re-electing Justin Trudeau, noting that in some ridings around the capital “one in four voters are public servants.” She specifically mentioned how her union influenced the re-election of Liberals David McGuinty (Ottawa South), Catherine McKenna (Ottawa Centre) and Greg Fergus (Hull-Aylmer).

“Those were strong wins, so clearly public servants did not want to return to the austerity times of the Harper government, and clearly they got out to the polls and cast their ballot. Hopefully this government is going to recognize the support that they’ve received from the public service and they’re going to reciprocate,” said Daviau

During the last election, the Liberals made a bid to reach out to public servants and called on their support just ahead of the polls in an open letter on September 25, 2015. In the letter, Justin Trudeau pledged to improve sick leave, mental health support and an overhaul of services.

“Where [Harper] sees an adversary, I see a partner. I believe that in order to have a public service that is valued by Canadians, and a source of pride for its members, it must be valued by its government,” wrote Trudeau at the time.

Research later found that the Liberals exaggerated public sector dissatisfaction under the Harper government, when in fact polls show that job satisfaction was in fact high.

In 2015, PSAC also engaged in an attack campaign against the Conservatives, called “Vote to Stop the Cuts.”

Despite Trudeau’s promises, the Liberals have done very little to revamp the Phoenix Pay system woes, which will cost Canadian taxpayers $117 million to replace

Edmonton van attacker avoids terrorism charges despite carrying ISIS flag and holding “genocidal beliefs”

Edmonton van attacker and ISIS supporter Abdulahi Sharif was found guilty by a jury on 11 charges on Friday for attempting to kill pedestrians and a police officer.

Among the charges, Sharif was convicted of five counts of attempted murder, and counts of fleeing from police causing bodily harm and aggravated assault.

On September 30, 2017, Sharif attacked Constable Michael Chernyk by purposefully striking him with his car and proceeded to stab him in the head and chest. Afterwards, Sharif got into a rented U-Haul and intentionally ran over four innocent pedestrians.

When investigators searched Sharif’s vehicle after the attacks they discovered an ISIS flag. Prosecutors, however, did not file any terrorism-related charges.

In 2015, a former coworker reported Sharif to the police because of his support of ISIS terrorism and Islamist extremism.

Sharif’s former co-worker alleges that he had “genocidal beliefs”, hated Shia Muslims and praised the Islamic State. While the co-worker reported Sharif to the authorities, they deemed he didn’t pose a threat to society.

Before being in Canada, Sharif was ordered to be deported by U.S. authorities. In 2012, Sharif fled the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and made his way into Canada, where he was granted refugee status despite being sought after by American officials.

Republicans in Congress have accused the U.S. Department of Homeland Security of not doing enough to investigate Sharif.

“The Committee is deeply concerned the vulnerabilities existing in 2011 which allowed this individual to enter, be released, and transit through the U.S. may still exist today,”  wrote former Representative Trey Gowdy in February.

“More than one year has passed since the attack, and it appears there has been no comprehensive study of the incident.”

Sharif’s victims have since spoken out about the trauma they have to deal with since the attack took place.

Jordan Stewardson, a victim of the van attack who testified in Sharif’s trial, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder because of the attack.

“I’ve ruined relationships because of it. It’s a constant battle every day. It’s like a vicious circle. I get mad I can’t do things at the gym. Every day I get triggers of what happened,” said Stewardson.

Another victim, Kim O’Hara, says that she struggles with anxiety, depression and negative thoughts since being attacked by Sharif.

Canadian authorities claim they did everything they could to screen Sharif before allowing him to stay in the country as a refugee. Despite the carnage of this attack in Edmonton, former Liberal Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale alleges that Sharif raised no “red flags”
